The design of the new hotel building has been developed from the intention to give the city of Sanremo more than just an accommodation center; it is intended to be an opportunity for redevelopment for the entire Portosole area. The plan was developed from the previous building lines, respecting the limits imposed by regulations, and according to the shape of the surroundings of the area, generating a building with sinuous and irregular shapes, modelled according to the main visual cones of the site. The result is a building that moves away from the city and, with a sense of relaxation and inclination, opens out towards the sea. The ground floor is presented as a closed access block, while opening up towards the other three sides, while the first floor moves away from the city, not only to preserve the view from the Corso Salvo D’Acquisto promenade, but also to provide a terrace for public use, partially with a roof garden, accessible from Corso Trento Trieste via a pedestrian walkway culminating in a striking belvedere cantilevered towards the port.
